Controls Service Engineer

POSITION: Controls Service Engineer
The Controls Service Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, designing, and developing control systems in an industrial environment. This role includes managing, repairing, and enhancing systems like HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications and automation controllers (PLC, PAC, DCS) to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely. Key objectives involve optimizing performance, reliability, and safety by leveraging automation and control technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control system issues to ensure real-time resolution.
- Respond promptly to customer service requests and provide technical support.
- Design, develop, install, and support modifications for industrial control systems and HMI applications.
- Manage directly assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with customers to service and modify control systems effectively.
- Support the Sales team by providing technical input for quotations and scope documentation.
- Work independently or as part of a project team, depending on the task requirements.
- Train customers and colleagues on control systems concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting control systems and industrial electrical equipment.
- Strong ability to drive continuous improvement in processes and technologies, fostering innovation and efficiency within the team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a drug and alcohol test.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline, or an Associate’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline plus two (2) years of equivalent field experience.
- Experience with control system troubleshooting, design and implementation concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Experience with programmable controllers, motor/motor controllers, electronic sensors and instrumentation.
- Experience reading P&ID (process and instrumentation diagram) drawings and electrical schematics.
- Experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI) software, Microsoft Office applications, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards, regulations and practices.
- Experience with servo controls.
- Automation, validation, and GMP experience in the pharmaceutical/medical devices industry.

Panel Designer

POSITION: Panel Designer
The Panel Designer is responsible for designing and developing electrical control panels for industrial systems. This role involves creating detailed layouts and electrical diagrams, selecting appropriate components, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The Panel Designer collaborates with engineers and customers to develop custom solutions that meet specific requirements. The Panel Designer also performs testing of panels, troubleshoots design issues, and provides technical support throughout the project lifecycle. The Panel Designer’s goal is to ensure the functionality, reliability, and safety of our electrical control systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs CAD work to design and develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bill of materials.
- Investigates and recommends components based on the application and environment while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
- Performs heating and/or cooling calculations during the panel design phase to ensure components are used within their ratings.
- Interfaces with the Controls Department to ensure designs and layouts are appropriate for the control system.
- Interfaces with customers during the quotation, design, and implementation phases of projects.
- Responsible for meeting project milestones and communicating any concerns or issues with the Control Engineer and Department Manager.
- Assists the Sales Department in developing quotations for control systems and panels as required.
- Assists other Designers by finalizing and redlining drawings.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and track multiple concurrent projects and assigned tasks.
- Ability to work independently and in small teams as each project requires.
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and possess a valid Driver’s License.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Requires an Associate Degree in an Engineering or technical discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of job-related experience, or a minimum of four (4) years of job-related experience.
- Experience with programmable controllers, motor/motor controllers, electronic sensors, and instrumentation.
- Experience reading P&ID (process and instrumentation diagram) drawings and electrical schematics.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD.

Process Engineer

POSITION: Process Engineer
The Process Engineer is responsible for leading and participating in multi-disciplinary teams that design and execute process upgrade projects for GES clients, a majority of those in the food manufacturing segment. This role will include designing, optimizing, and overseeing processes involved in manufacturing and production, to include analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality. The Process Engineer’s goal is to collaborate with team members within production, quality, and maintenance to ensure processes are safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and support industrial process systems.
- Provide project management services, including responsibility for cost, manpower, and schedule.
- Develop project drawings and write specifications for equipment and contractor work.
- Interface directly with the client throughout the project cycle, from initial development to implementation.
- Manage a variety of outside contractors during project installation and startup.
- Estimate project costs and pursue business development opportunities.
- Source and procure equipment required for project design and execution.

POSITION: Software Developer
The Software Developer will bring in-depth technical expertise to develop innovative solutions within the automation sector, promoting significant professional growth and advancement. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create modern, intuitive graphic user interfaces maximizing reusability through templates and standard code.
- Collaborate and work solo to create and upkeep software solutions across various automation tasks such as business software, data analytics and reporting, process
visualization, web and administrative interfaces, and desktop tools. - Develop software architecture following industry standards, focusing on enhancing performance, usability, and long-term maintainability.

Panel Builder
